For nearly seventy years, Charlotte’s Web has been read aloud by children, parents, and teachers, and the novel has consistently remained among the best-loved and best-selling children’s books of all time. The story by award-winning author E.B. White is a heartwarming tale of friendship, loyalty, and sacrifice about a runt pig whose life is saved by a girl named Fern and then by a very special spider named Charlotte.
No Boundaries Youth Theater will produce Charlotte’s Web this spring. This non-musical production will be staged in the book’s original setting— New England in the early 1950s—and a chorus of storytellers will bring the famous barn cellar and an old-time country fair to life.
Auditions for young actors ages 6 through 14 will be held on Monday, January 14, and Wednesday, January 16, at Holmes Elementary School in New Britain at 2150 Stanley Street. Audition times both days begin at 6:00 p.m. Rehearsal days are scheduled for Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The production will be performed at Holmes Elementary School on May 3, 4 and 5.

No audition preparation is necessary, but those auditioning will meet in small groups with the directors, will play some introductory drama games, and will be asked to take direction and read or repeat lines from the play.
