NBYT’s Haunted House is a not-so-scary Halloween tour with a theatrical twist. On ten-minute “backstage” guided tours, visitors will come upon a twisted props master and her mysterious assistant; a demanding director, a diva lead actress, a scheming understudy, and an techie worked to the bone in a dangerous dress rehearsal; and a confused security guard who thinks he’s warden of a long-gone insane asylum. They’re all DYING to get into show business—and a couple of these characters may not survive the tour!
The Haunted House will feature members of the NBYT Teen Company and its improv comedy troupe, SquishyTown Asylum. A script for the tour has been written by Carmine Lavieri, Sue Hammell, Darren Sechrist, and Darren Farrington.
Haunted House hours are 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, at NBYT at the New Britain-Berlin YMCA at 50 High Street in New Britain. A donation of $3 for adults and $2 for children, students, and seniors is requested for admission. Baked goods, beverages, and other refreshments will be available for sale.
