NBYT after-school programs in New Britain public elementary schools are expanding to their biggest level yet! As a result, NBYT is hiring additional Teaching Artists and Assistants for the 2014-15 school year.
Teaching Artists are responsible for lesson planning around structured themes and guidelines; leading warm-ups, instruction, rehearsals and other activities; preparing for “share day” performances; and supervision of program participants. Experienced Teaching Artists with degrees in theater are preferred. Theater majors currently pursuing a degree are encouraged to apply as well.
Teaching Assistants will assist with warm-ups, acting instruction, rehearsals, and other planned activities; will support “share day” performances; and will help to supervise program participants. No experience is required, but a background in either theater or education is helpful.
All applicants must be available Mondays through Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:00 pm beginning on November 3. Programs will run through May except for school holidays and vacations, half days, snow days, and early dismissal days. All applicants must be reliable team players and be responsible for their own transportation. Hourly salary is dependent upon experience.
To apply, please send an email (with resume if available) to Executive Director Darren Farrington by email to email@example.com. No phone inquiries please.
