Teaching Artists and Assistants
NBYT seeks resumes from Teaching Artists and Teaching Assistants for after-school theater programs in New Britain for the 2014-15 school year.
Teaching Artists are responsible for lesson planning; leading warm-ups, instruction, rehearsals and other activities; preparing for “share day” performances; and supervision of program participants.
Teaching Assistants will assist with warm-ups, acting instruction, rehearsals, and other planned activities; will support “share day” performances; and will help to supervise program participants.
All applicants must be reliable team players and be responsible for their own transportation. Availability during after-school hours (3:00 to 5:00 p.m.) is required. Hourly salary is dependent upon experience.
NBYT seeks additional stage managers for its 2014-15 season. Productions feature children ages 8 to 18. Rehearsals are generally held two weekday evenings each week from 6 to 8 pm. A stage manager for the touring performance of The Cinderella Project is also needed and should be available mornings. Organizational skills and punctuality are required. Previous experience and work with children or teenagers is a plus. Stipends will be paid for the positions.
Set Designers and Builders
NBYT also seeks additional set designers and builders for upcoming productions. Payment of stipends will be on a project-by-project basis and based upon involvement in building.

New Britain Youth Theater was founded in 2010 to provide after-school programming to the Consolidated School District of New Britain, to produce a season of performances by and for children and young adults, and to offer drama classes and summer programs.
