Free Ticket Offer for MACBETH

The NBYT Teen Company performances of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth this coming weekend offer a special opportunity for a discount. Bring a new unwrapped toy valued at approximately $10 or more and receive one free ticket for MacbethThis offer is limited to one ticket per family per performance.

The toys collected will first be used as props in next month’s production of Secret Santa—in which the characters also collect toys—and will then be donated to the Hartford County office of Toys for Tots which is located in Plainville.

Often considered the darkest of Shakespeare’s tragedies, Macbeth is a tale about a couple’s thirst for power and its bloody consequences. Ghosts, witches, and many of the Bard’s most famous lines make Macbeth one of the most intense and often performed of Shakespeare’s works—despite its superstitious reputation as a cursed play. As directed by NBYT Artistic Director David B. Sousa, the production is set in a modern yet third-world Scotland. Macbeth is the second full production of the NBYT Teen Company, a program in which teens may become involved in choosing, producing and promoting their own theater.

Macbeth will be performed at Trinity-on-Main Performance Space located at 69 Main Street in downtown New Britain. Free parking is available at the Chestnut Street Garage across the street. Performance times are Friday, November 16, at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 17, at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for students, and seniors. Special group rates are available for parties of ten or more. Tickets may be reserved by calling New Britain Youth Theater at 860-515-8115 or may be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets at Tickets will also be available for purchase at all performances.
