The following two classes will be offered in the Winter 2011 term.

At New Britain Youth Theater, kids are allowed to act like kids! Or act like dragons, princesses, forest animals or superheroes. This introduction to performance will use stories children know-fairy tales and folktales-to teach them about characters, story beginnings and endings, and how a story is told and performed. Games and activities will let these youngest actors try out various roles on stage.

Day/Time: Saturdays, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Duration: 8 weeks
Class Size: 5 (minimum) to 10 (maximum)
Cost per term: $100

ACTING 101 (AGES 8 – 12)

Actors take the stage in this introductory class to explore voice, movement and improvisation as they develop focus and concentration and learn to work together as a group. Children will identify characters and parts of a story, and will act out activities, emotions, and roles in each story.

Day/Time: Saturdays, 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.
Duration: 8 weeks
Class Size: 5 (minimum) to 10 (maximum)
Cost per term: $100
